Photofolio Success for Cannock

Cannock gained 3 awards in the latest MCPF competition with Carole Mathews winning a Highly Commended with here photo entitled ‘Autumn’s Birches’ and 3 acceptances. David Byrne gained two HC’s for ‘Grit and Mud’ and ‘Riding his Luck’ and a total of 4 acceptances.

Altogether Cannock PS received 23 acceptances, 7 in Colour Prints, 6 in Mono Prints and 10 in DPI, provided by the following members:

Peter Clark, Carl Mason, Reg Mathews, Mike Pearce, David Ray, Paul Reynolds, Guy Rogers, John Cartlidge, David Byrne, Carole Mathews, Jim Slade, Carl Mason and Paul Hassell.

Gold & Bronze FIAP Medals for David Byrne in Hungry, the Gold was awarded for his image ‘Riding his Luck’ and the Bronze for ‘Dunstanburgh Castle’ in total David received 6 acceptances. Carl Mason also gained 3 acceptances.

Bio: Based in Guernsey, Channel Islands. My style of photography has allowed me to travel widely giving illustrated presentations of my work. My interest in photography became a passion by exploring the immense possibilities that digital technology offered the creative photographic artist I was enrolled as a Fellow of the Royal Photographic Sodety in 2006 and currently serve on their Distinctions Panel assessing Assodateship and Fellowship Panels of work for the Visual Art Category. Some of my work is included in the Stephen H Tyng Foundation as part of the Royal Photographic Societies Permanent Collection for the Nation.

In 2011 an invitation to become a member of the London Salon of Photography was greatly accepted. My aim when creating new work is to challenge the fundamentals and boundaries of known photography, to strive to be unique in my preferred style of photographic art
