PAGB DPI Championships Results

Cannock’s return to the big time ended up with us finishing a fantastic joint 5th place in the national PDI championships with 246 points.

We finished in 2nd place out of our regions clubs, fighting off local rivals Stafford, who didn’t make it to the final stages, drawing with Leek, while being behind only to Smethwick on 259 points.

The favourites, Wigan 10, won with 267 points, with Smethwick 2nd and Amersham 3rd. Best image was ‘Surfing Up A Storm‘ by Jeanette Duncan of Norfolk Photo Group

Hornbill Challenge 2012

Carole Mathews recently spotted a photographic competition called the Hornbill Challenge 2012 which is sponsored by Hornbill Electrical Control Systems and hosted by Neath Photographic Society.  As this was a competition with a monetary prize Carole decided to give it a go.  There was a total prize pot of £350, with £200 being awarded to the overall winning image, with a further £50 being awarded to the best ‘Industrial Landscape’, ‘Natural History’ and ‘Monochrome’ image.

Carole entered four monochrome images and had three acceptances.  She was very pleased when ‘Groynes‘ was awarded the Best Monochrome Image, with a prize of £50.

The total acceptances for CPS was 6.

Success at ‘Rock 2012’

David Byrne was awarded 2 medals and 11 acceptances in the Serbian international Salon. Gold PSA was awarded for ‘The Copse’ the first medal for this picture, ‘Riding his Luck’ was awarded a Salon Gold Medal. He was also awarded 2 HM’s for ‘The Sentinals’  and ‘Dunstanburgh Castle
