New Club Competitions

Those of you who attended the AGM recently will be aware that it was mentioned that there will be two new competitions on the programme for next season.
They are the “Photo Ryder Cup” and “Peer’s Pics”, introduced by our Programme Secretary Graham Orgill.

See below for word documents that Graham has prepared to explain the format of each.

Graham has kindly donated a trophy for the Peer’s Pics competition for the winner.

The dates for these new competitions will be:

  • Peer’s Pics – 7th December 2017
  • Ryder Cup – 29th March 2018

You will see that the subject for the Peer’s Pics competition is unusual angles, so time to get shooting!

2016/17 Print Competition Winners

Dear Members,

Here are the results of the 2016/17 Cannock Photographic Society monthly print competitions.

In the advanced mono competition, we have a tie for 1st place, with Dave Byrne and Paul Hassell sharing the honours.  Steve Clifford achieves a creditable 3rd.

And in the advanced colour, Dave Byrne just pips Carl Mason by 1 point to claim first place, with Paul Hassell coming in 3rd.

In the intermediate mono competition, Richard Moorse takes 1st place, Bob Cooper 2nd and Steve Moore 3rd.  Richard is therefore promoted to the advanced mono section for next season.

In the intermediate colour, Richard Moorse takes 1st place, Steve Moore 2nd and Steve Clifford 3rd. Richard is therefore promoted to the advanced colour section for next season.

My congratulations go out to all participants in what turned out to be closely fought competitions.  It is heartening to see several new members entering and acquitting themselves very well indeed.

Now it’s time to get out again, and to prepare for the 2017/18 season.

Happy snapping to you all.

Kind regards

Richard Moorse
Monthly Print Competitions Secretary
