David Byrne has received his ribbon for the BPE 5* award this morning, he needed 300 acceptances in BPE exhibitions to qualify, ABPE is the next award available.

CPS finished 8th this year in the Print Cup run by the PAGB we also had ‘Best Sports Image’ awarded to David Byrne with his image ‘Near Miss‘
Cannock PS had a great championships this year finishing joint 3rd in the first round to go through automatically to next years finals without the need for pre-qualification. We finished 8th in the end out of a possible 38 clubs who attended and over 1000+ clubs who were eligible to enter the competition, so no mean feat!! Well done all! Also our member David Byrne was also awarded 2 personal awards for his images, ‘White Smoke‘ and ‘Old Bothy‘ used in the competition.
Paul Hassell did very well at this years Midlands Salon with 12 acceptances including the following awards: “Child Bride” was awarded a PSA Gold “Olympian Daniel Carrol” was awarded a UPI Gold “After the Cutain Falls” was awarded a PAGB Silver “Christine Onuora” was awarded a MCPF Ribbon “Brothers” was awarded a MCPF Ribbon “My Wardrobe” was awarded a MCPF Ribbon David Byrne also received an MCPF Medal for ‘Ruined Barracks’ and a FIAP Ribbon and MCPF Ribbon.

Flash fills can be useful but not when they are of the weather variety as Smethwick Photo Society found out when they hosted tonight’s Photofolio awards tonight. In an hours sudden downpour up to a foot of water flooded the Old School House and grounds just prior to the meeting which left camera club member stranded in the street wondering whether the the night would be cancelled. But in true British Spirit of the show must go on the awards were handed out in the bar…
Paul Hassell has won Gold at the Abla Open with his image ‘Determination‘ following that up with commended for ‘Dedication’ and ‘The Player‘, in total he received 8 acceptances.
