Cannock PS had a great championships this year finishing joint 3rd in the first round to go through automatically to next years finals without the need for pre-qualification. We finished 8th in the end out of a possible 38 clubs who attended and over 1000+ clubs who were eligible to enter the competition, so no mean feat!! Well done all! Also our member David Byrne was also awarded 2 personal awards for his images, ‘White Smoke‘ and ‘Old Bothy‘ used in the competition.
Hi Everyone, Trying to finalize details for the practical group meet on Saturday 6th July in Birmingham. Preliminary thoughts are meet at 10am and finish at 3pm. It’s Annual Exhibition time where our members have their work on show. It has a fantastic collection of images on show and covers a massive range of styles and genre’s. We have talented nature photographers and also some of the best street photography and landscapes on show. Entry is completely free! so what can you lose? Hi folks, we are suggesting a visit to the Jaguar Heritage Museum in Coventry on Sunday July 29th. This is the last Sunday the museum will be open ever, as it is closing at the end of August. Admission is free and photography is allowed. There is a selection of the 120 vehicles in the collection on show, so if you are interested please let us know by the weekend. Roy & Margaret
We are arranging a trip to Avery Historical Museum in Smethwick to see The Titanic Odyssey exhibition. Several thousand visitors have attended already so they have extended it till the end of June, so it must be popular. Some members may remember Andrew Lound who did the Titanic at the club, he runs the exhibition. The date will be Wednesday 27th June, and the cost is £4.00 each. Well it’s been another successful year for Cannock PS, the committee would like to thank everyone for making it a great year, we will be meeting again on the 6th September with the guest speaker Patricia Jones. Don’t forget the practical group still goes on and there are 3 meetings in the close season, find the details on the ‘whats on‘ page. Of course the PAGB Championships are on the 14th July and that should prove to be a great day out, the results will be posted…
