Cannock’s return to the big time ended up with us finishing a fantastic joint 5th place in the national PDI championships with 246 points. We finished in 2nd place out of our regions clubs, fighting off local rivals Stafford, who didn’t make it to the final stages, drawing with Leek, while being behind only to Smethwick on 259 points. After several years absence from the finals, Cannock ended in a creditable joint 5th place today, meaning another place in next years finals is guaranteed, Wigan 10 taking the championship in first place. Full scores will be posted on the site in the near future.

We have now had the results from the 2012 Photofolio Challenge Trophy. Cannock put a mixed entry into the competition of Advanced and Intermediate workers to give as many people as possible the experience of having their work entered. In the Monochrome Print Section 27 clubs entered work and Cannock were placed 9th, 29 Clubs entered Colour Prints with Cannock being placed 6th and from 32 clubs entering PDI’s Cannock were placed 10th . Well it’s been another successful year for Cannock PS, the committee would like to thank everyone for making it a great year, we will be meeting again on the 6th September with the guest speaker Patricia Jones. Cannock gained 3 awards in the latest MCPF competition with Carole Mathews winning a Highly Commended with here photo entitled ‘Autumn’s Birches’ and 3 acceptances. David Byrne gained two HC’s for ‘Grit and Mud’ and ‘Riding his Luck’ and a total of 4 acceptances.
